Cemetery Decorating Guidelines

St Mary Cemetery has adopted the following guidelines to help ensure a pleasant and respectful atmosphere.

 

Cemetery Regulations

Respect and Reverence: This cemetery is a place of peace and remembrance. Please treat the grounds and all memorials with respect and dignity.

Decoration Placement and Removal:

  • Summer Season: Decorations may be placed after May 15th and must be removed by October 15th.
  • Winter Season: Decorations may be placed after November 15th and must be removed by March 15th.
  • Decorations remaining after these dates will be removed and discarded after three months if unclaimed.

Decorating Guidelines:

  • General:
    • Live plantings are permitted after May 21st. The cemetery is not responsible for damage to live plants.
    • Limit of three decorations per gravesite.
    • Decorations must not obstruct lawn mowing or exceed 60 inches in height.
    • Decorations will be removed if unsightly.
    • No decorations on or around columbariums or cemetery trees.
    • No planting or pushing (including artificial flowers) directly in the ground.
  • Prohibited Items:
    • Food, beverages, shepherd’s hooks, fences, vigil lights, spinners, glass, metal, rocks, plaques, bricks, plaster figurines, and items not integral to the monument.
  • Containers:
    • Durable, non-glass/ceramic containers only. Must be placed on the monument.
  • Winter Decorations:
    • Must be on a stand at least 24 inches high or attached to an upright monument.
    • Christmas trees are allowed with a secure base. Ornaments must be securely attached. No garland, tinsel.

General Cemetery Rules:

  • Pets:
    • Leashed at all times and must remain on paved walkways.
    • Owners must clean up and remove pet waste from the premises.
    • Pets must be well-behaved and non-aggressive.
    • Pets are not permitted in buildings.
  • Other:
    • Speed limit: 10 mph.
    • Parking permitted only when visiting a gravesite.
    • No loud music or loitering.
    • No parking on the grass.
    • Disrespect of the cemetery, monuments, or gravesites is not allowed.

Respeto y Reverencia: Este cementerio es un lugar de paz y recuerdo. Por favor, traten el terreno y todos los monumentos con respeto y dignidad.

Colocación y Retiro de Decoraciones:

  • Temporada de Verano: Se pueden colocar decoraciones después del 15 de mayo y deben retirarse antes del 15 de octubre.
  • Temporada de Invierno: Se pueden colocar decoraciones después del 15 de noviembre y deben retirarse antes del 15 de marzo.
  • Las decoraciones que queden después de estas fechas serán retiradas y desechadas después de tres meses si no son reclamadas.

Guías para Decorar:

  • General:
    • Se permiten plantas vivas después del 21 de mayo. El cementerio no se hace responsable por daños a las plantas vivas.
    • Límite de tres decoraciones por tumba.
    • Las decoraciones no deben obstruir el corte del césped ni exceder los 150 centímetros de altura (60 pulgadas).
    • Las decoraciones serán retiradas si están feas.
    • No se permiten decoraciones en o alrededor de los columbarios ni los árboles del cementerio.
    • No se permite plantar o empujar nada (incluyendo flores artificiales) directamente en la tierra.
  • Artículos Prohibidos:
    • Comida, bebidas, ganchos de pastor, cercas, luces de vigilia, objetos que giran, vidrio, metal, rocas, placas, ladrillos, figuras de yeso y artículos que no sean parte del monumento.
  • Contenedores:
    • Solo contenedores duraderos, que no sean de vidrio ni cerámica. Deben colocarse sobre el monumento.
  • Decoraciones de Invierno:
    • Deben estar en un soporte de al menos 60 centímetros de alto (24 pulgadas) o sujetas a un monumento vertical.
    • Se permiten árboles de Navidad con una base segura. Los adornos deben estar bien sujetos. No se permite guirnalda ni oropel.

Reglas Generales del Cementerio:

  • Mascotas:
    • Deben estar atadas con correa en todo momento y deben permanecer en los caminos pavimentados.
    • Los dueños deben limpiar y retirar los desechos de las mascotas del lugar.
    • Las mascotas deben portarse bien y no ser agresivas.
    • No se permiten mascotas en los edificios.
  • Otros:
    • Límite de velocidad: 16 km/h (10 mph).
    • Se permite estacionar solo cuando se visita una tumba.
    • No se permite música alta ni vagar sin rumbo.
    • No se permite estacionar en el césped.
    • No se permite faltar el respeto al cementerio, los monumentos o las tumbas.
